Dow Corning is an organization that has consistently valued me as a professional and as a whole person. The flexibility offered is a big plus, the opportunities to work on global teams and travel have enriched my life. I even had the opportunity to have an international assignment. My colleagues are smart, overachievers, who deliver to high standards, yet they care about each other too. I have always felt well recognized and rewarded throughout my career here. It's also great to be part of a market leader company which operates from a position of strength. Glad I joined, glad I have stayed

Because the company is very relationship focused, operational discipline, sometimes can get overlooked. Dow Corning is working at ways to improve its process management, but probably not its strength yet.

    Advice to Management

Celebrate the victories more often. Dow Corning people are generally quite humble and not so used to celebrating, rather they are eager to move on to the next challenge. It would be good to spend more time acknowledging an publicizing our successes.

    Difficult Interview

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Dow Corning (Cleveland, OH) in October 2015.

Set phone interview schedule just 3 days before. The mood is ok but phone interview program volume is not loud enough, so that I cannot listen to their voice.

Dow Corning knows about cooperation. The company began as a joint venture of chemical titan Dow and glass giant Corning in 1943 and ranks among the longest-lasting partnerships of its kind in the US. Dow Corning produces more than 7,000 silicone-based products such as adhesives, insulating materials, and lubricants for aerospace, automotive, and electrical uses. Because silicone does not conduct electricity, it is also used in its hard polycrystalline form (silicon) as the material on which semiconductors are built. Its products are also used in the production of ... More
