I have been working at DuPont Performance Materials full-time (More than 5 years)
Decent Pay Scale (a little lower than industry standard, but not too bad) Decent Benefits (again, could be better) 90% of the work force has over 25-30 years, a few with as many 50 years. Can't be too bad.
Lots of dangerous chemicals. and old school mentalities. e.g. That's the way we've always done for the last 30 years!! (the most dangerous saying in the industry) Advancement is difficult. They don't like to let you move up without replacements in place or ready to hire.
Advice to Management
Bring Pay scale up to industry standard, hire more manpower, you're going to start losing a lot of people to retirement. DO NOT stand in the way of any man that wants to improve himself, and possibly benefit the company.

I applied online. The process took 7+ months. I interviewed at DuPont Performance Materials (Wilmington, DE) in January 2012.
Applied online. Had three phone interviews including two with peers and one with hiring manager. Seven months later flew out for interview. Organization was a joke. At F2F interview I had several panel interviews with various levels of the organization. Topics were varied and there was no order or plan or facilitation. The day ended with a one-on-one with the hiring manager. Expectations expressed by the hiring manager were the opposite of what she had stated in several e-mails and via phone conversations over the preceding months. I asked to have my name withdrawn during the discussion. Unfortunately, I turned down another offer during the seven month process because I believed what the hiring manager told me in phone conversations and was disgusted to see her change her expectations during the final interview seven months later.

Much of the segment's business is conducted through joint venture DuPont Teijin Films and DuPont Performance Elastomers, which had been a joint venture with Dow Chemical until the two companies split up the business in 2005. Because of the nature of its products, Dupont Performance Materials ...
