    I worked at Duquesne Light

My work was interesting and engaging, and I was able to work on a wide variety of projects. I had some of the best coworkers of my career--people who did good, competent work but also were thoughtful and had a good sense of humor.

There wasn't much room for error, and I had so many projects that it was stressful staying on top of everything. Pay was fine, but on the low side considering how much I worked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I was overall happy working at the company, but it seemed like there was a constant "do more with less" expectation. The collaboration between departments is okay, but it could be better.

The people at Duquesne Light are very open-minded individuals and seem to work very hard. I can see how they value what they do and why they pay what they do.They like to look past the metrics and see what a person really is qualitatively. 10/10 would go to another interview

The company, founded in 1880, provides electricity to more than 500,000 customers in southwestern Pennsylvania over its 17,000-mile transmission and distribution system. The utility, a subsidiary of Duquesne Light Holdings (formerly DQE) acts as a generation Provider of Last Resort (POLR) for customers who do not choose an alternative supplier.
