    Pros

    Management team is great to work with and very approachable. Founders are very detailed oriented and take time to understand project requirements before expending resources. Management understands that we need to work to live and not live to work and are very flexible when it comes to accommodating personal or emergency issues. Small company that treat employees like a fortune 500 without the politics If you can justify a training program being beneficial to your job performance, management will authorize payment and time for training.

    Cons

    Management requires a bit more on client service that may be necessary and in comparision to other service companies. The sales team needs to grow

    Advice to Management

    Cut back on the unnecessary frills for clients we are in a recession : ) Hire some more experienced sales people

    Application

    I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at EBSL Technologies Int (Fort Lauderdale, FL) in February 2008.

    Interview

    Phone screen from the HR manager had a few questions about OS, Networking & Sys Mgmt. Then questions about my career goals and why I would work for a smaller firm.Mainly it was an interview t oget to know me it seemed. 2nd Interview came about 10 days after the screen and was with a panel (HR Manager, Director IT and Admin Director) . The interview started with customer service and operations settings and responses and then went mainly technical with a practical exercise from the Director IT and the entire interview lasted about 4 hours in all. The final was 1:1 lunch with Director IT about one week later with the offer. Process took about 3 weeks .

    Interview Questions

    • A customer calls and complains that one of her servers gets knocked offline for 20 minutes every evening at 6 pm for no reason. Trouble shooting and testing during regular hours shows no issue. How would you resolve this?   1 Answer

    Negotiation

    Negotiating was minimal as the company's believes in "pay for play" I was told the base range going into the 2nd interview. They offer a generous profit sharing plan, which adds an extra year end bonus if revenues exceeded expectations. I had the option of the use of a company vehicle for any field work or mileage reimbursement for my own car. Of note is the fact that the Director of ITServices was not impressed by my certifications and challenged me by asking for several demonstrations of the skills the certification represented in a variety of sceanarios and lab exercises. So if you are going to play up certs please be able to demonstrate the practical expertize that got you the certs.
