Our products are made from recycled metal scrap, and EVRAZ melts more than 2.5 million tons of it each year to make our steel. Our facilities are efficient and safe, and we’re an important contributor to the social well-being of the communities where we operate.  Through our Reading Sparks™ children’s literacy program, established in the fall of 2012, we  have donated more than 20,000 books, established Book Nooks in school, community and family centers, and supported literacy programs in over 45 elementary schools. We also fund scholarships and apprenticeship trades programs, helping deserving students reach their potential and raising the standard of business and technical education in our manufacturing communities.



By its very nature, steel manufacturing is a dangerous endeavor. From day one on the job, our employees know that safety is a responsibility that’s shared by everyone. Exceeding national industry standards isn’t enough—our ultimate goal is zero accidents.

    I worked at EVRAZ North America full-time for less than a year


    For non-union work, the benefits and wages were great for entry level - 14.75 to start, 15.49 after 90 days. Unlimited overtime for those that wanted it; easy work and the BEST supervisors I have ever had. They truly cared and protected you. Lots of free meals and paid lunches.


    The Spiral mill receives a single contract at a time. Runs for a few years then closes until another contract comes along. It was open in 2009 and 2013.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Find enough contracts to employ people in the spiral mill without massive layoffs. Have the integrity not to hire temps.

    Application Details

    I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at EVRAZ North America in March 2014.

    Interview Details

    Initially had 3 phone interviews before being flown to Pueblo, CO for face to face interview. Phone interviews were with CIO in Chicago and other IT managers at Canadian plants. Face to Face interview was with CIO, Plant General Manager and a senior IT engineer together in a conference room. Questions were general background on management experience and technical background.

    The offer exceeded my expectation and was 15% more than I was making at previous employers. The relocation package was exceptionally generous.
