-Solid experience in the various stages of lawsuits (pleadings, pretrial discovery, settlement)
-You learn to use data management software and get training in LexisNexis, Westlaw, CM/ECF, and PACER
-Great place to get your feet wet in the law and build essential skills for paralegal work and law school in general

    -Zero room for growth
    -Lackluster salary
-Dreadful personalities in most of the partners
-Dealing with class members hounding you about money every single day is frustrating
-You will spend so much time mailing things in the copy room you will wonder why you're title isn't "Copy Clerk"

    Advice to Management

Their personalities are not going to change and the nature of the firm's work is not going to change so there's nothing really to advise.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Edelman Combs Latturner & Goodwin (Chicago, IL) in August 2013.

Very straightforward. I applied through my university's career database (Edelman hires almost exclusively from Northwestern and UChicago alone). Came in for an interview two weeks later (I met with two of the partners). Questions were mainly about my resume and if/why I wanted to pursue a career in law. I received a callback with an offer the next day.

Salary and benefits are NOT negotiable. It was a take it or leave it scenario.
