In 1978, Epitec founder and current “Head Visionary Honcho” Jerry Sheppard broke away from traditional corporate America to launch his own entrepreneurial quest. His goal was to harness unique thinking, generate unique systems and create unique ways of doing business to tackle the demands of the rapidly changing and highly challenging technological environment.

To help businesses take advantage of early computers (there were days without them, remember?), Jerry established Comprehensive Data Processing to provide the resources that companies needed to migrate from paper to electronic capability. This company later evolved into Epitec, a company known today for forward-thinking and advanced technological capabilities.

True to its startup philosophy, Epitec, a 100% African-American owned and operated firm, embraces entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to customer service excellence.     My word for this company is opportunity. For those looking to build a career, whether it's in our corporate offices or on a customer project, there is plenty of opportunity. The opportunities to grow professionally, personally and financially are available. You have to be willing to do the work, of course. The company values feedback, all constructive feedback, and continues to implement change based on specific feedback from our employees. This is a company where as an individual you can contribute to a larger goal.


    If you are someone that is looking for a checklist type job, this is not the place for you. Epitec is a high producing company and expects a lot out of those they bring aboard.

    I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 daysinterviewed at Epitec (Southfield, MI).


    Phone interview, two in person interviews. Not a good company to work with. I interviewed twice and wasn't considered due to motivation which was an absurd excuse. They ask for transcripts which you have to pay for out of pocket. Low base salary. My experience was a hassle and waste time/ money.
