I have been working at Erie Insurance Group full-time for more than 5 years

Erie Insurance is a nice place to work in the Erie county (PA). Decent salary based on the cost of living and they offer great benefits such as insurance, 401k and retirement benefits. I have a perfect work-life balance; at least in my team. Job satisfaction and work-life balance greatly varies with the team you work for. The company strongly believes in its core values, which is wonderful. As any other customer focused organization, Erie Insurance gives most importance to its valuable business from agents and customers.

Promotions and career growth are mostly difficult to achieve. Career growth is mostly achieved by applying for other open positions within the company and being hired into those positions. Organic growth is slow. Some teams struggle with work life balance. The organization structure is constantly going through change - no stability. The future in one's job is uncertain at times due to this reason.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company spends a lot on management training. Technical training must be promoted in the same way to foster growth and productivity. Career growth at the bottom level is an area that needs some attention. IT organization structure needs some stability.

I applied through college or university. The process took 1 week - interviewed at Erie Insurance Group.

    Interview Details

Applied through college career fair and got an email invitation for an office interview. The interviewers were HR manger, my potential supervisor. All basic questions, not very difficult. They want to know if I can speak clearly through phone call, which I guess is important for claim specialist.
