- Application Details
I applied online. The process took a week – interviewed at Ethos Consulting Group in February 2015.Interview Details
For the Account Manager position, they require 3 different interviews that were all very vague.
The 1st interview is a general 10 minute interview where you discuss your background and why you applied to this role.
The 2nd interview is an hour long interview where they tell you how direct marketing is the best form of marketing and selling face to face is most effective. Also, they try to impress you by how "quickly" you can become a Manager of your own office and make "tons" of money very quickly. It is 100% commission based and relies heavily on how hard you can push someone to switch cable providers. Not once do they tell you your exact job responsibilities.
The 3rd interview is a 30 minute interview with the President of the office. Here you are told the exact same things in the 2nd interview and they continue to try to make the job more and more attractive without tell you what the job truly entails. During this interview, I finally had to directly ask many times what my job responsibilities are and they tell you that you go out and meet with "Leads" that are prospect customers for Century Link. By meeting with "Leads" you are going out as a DOOR TO DOOR salesman randomly knocking on doors to try and show how bad Comcast is and to switch over to Century Link. They were very hesitant to even answer my blunt questions and still tried to navigate away from the questions that showed what the role was actually about.
Overall, there is no need to have 3 different interviews especially if you have to ask directly what the job responsibilities are and what you will do every day. The job description that was posted online was very misleading and vague. If you are looking to sell Century Link by being a DOOR TO DOOR salesman, then this job is perfect for you. If you are looking for an Entry-Level Sales and Marketing job, I suggest you truly understand what you are getting into before you are amazed by all the potential and false aspects of the job.Interview Questions
