    Pros

Benefits Mobility Opportunities Exel does a really good job giving incentives to stay with the company. Cell phone bill discounts, 401K match and a national presence makes it a great place to start a career.

    Cons

Poor Management The biggest drawback is poor management. My advice is ask a lot of questions of your hiring manager. There are a handful of really good managers, but it varies by sector. Retail tends to have the most inexperienced managers who are also poor leaders. Good company to start out with but definitely not one you're likely to stay with.

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach. Exel training emphasizes teamwork and associate centered management, but in reality the only thing site leadership communicates is the numbers. It's about the bottom line first and the people actually doing the work come second.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Exel (Houston, TX) in June 2015.

    Interview

Applied on-line and was called for screening interview. Was asked standard interview questions during screening. I was called back for second interview but selected not to go. After reading on Glassdoor about Excel, I decided it would not be the best place to start and grow a career. The work life balance does not appear to be that great.
