Expedia, Inc. is pleased to support the work of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international medical humanitarian organization working in more than 60 countries to assist people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe. Expedia and its employees support MSF by providing support for disaster relief efforts and ongoing operations.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®

Expedia.com has partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® to support St. Jude’s pioneering research and treatment of children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Through participation in the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign, an employee donation drive, and corporate matching donations, Expedia.com helps make it possible for St. Jude to ensure no child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay.

Local Community Engagement

Matching Gifts

Green Travel Options
Expedia offers greentravel options to our customers including the opportunity to purchase carbonoffsets to counterbalance the environmental impact of air travel. Expedia has partnered with TerraPass, a leading carbon offset provider, to help travelers easily reduce their carbon footprint. Offsets purchased fund clean energy and carbon reduction projects. In addition, Expedia offers travelers hybrid car rentals, green hotel options, and tips for responsible travel.

Why did you choose to work at Expedia?

My past summer internships have been at hotels, so I thought working at Expedia would give me the opportunity to see a different side of the hospitality industry.   The people seemed friendly and outgoing – I could see myself fitting in!

What’s a typical day at Expedia like for you?

I turn my computer on (after getting coffee, of course) and check my e-mail. From there I really can’t describe a typical day, as everyday is different.  Each day I have new responsibilities and projects to work on.  

What's your favorite city to visit in the world and why?

New York Cityis my favorite; there really is no place like it.

What do you do for fun?

I love to travel, hang out with friends, and play tennis.

What are three words you'd use to describe working here?

Challenging, encouraging, and rewarding.

Describe your most memorable Expedia moment.

My first spec review. It was an incredible feeling to actually lead a team of experienced engineers as an intern and then have my work respected by some of the smartest people in the tech industry!

What's your favorite place to visit in the world and why?

An absolutely beautiful country where I grew up and where my family and friends live—Pakistan.

Tell us about your most exotic or exciting travel experience.

Hanging out with snake-charmers, Sahara storytellers and folk musicians in Morocco.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Teleportation!  And it'd make my life a lot easier.  That way I would never be too late when I oversleep (which I do all the time)!

What book are you reading right now?

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.

Why did you choose to work at Expedia?

I chose Expedia because of it's dynamic work environment, the competitive industry it leads, the many international opportunities it provides, and the smart and friendly people I get to work with.

Describe your most memorable Expedia moment.

When I was asked to make a presentation to several senior executives (including the CEO of my group) at the end of my summer Product Manager MBA internship at Expedia.

Tell us about your most exotic destination.

Capri, Italy. It has the bluest water, the most sheer cliffs, the most winding roads, and the most spectacular villas I've ever seen.

What's the best part about working here?

The responsibility you're given is significant - whether as a full-time or an intern. Your efforts and decisions have a real impact on the business.

What do you do for fun?

Bike, hike, yoga; chill out with family and friends.
