Our Organization: Past. Present. Future.
To understand our history, you have to look past the organization known today as Experian. Back to when our parent companies gained traction in lines of business that would take decades, and in some cases a century, to cross. As is the case with many documented bloodlines, it is sometimes the most unlikely of pairings that combine to produce a great champion.
“Experian is a remarkable success story about a business built on innovation, global enterprise, and, above all, the endeavors and hard work of some amazing people.”
– Sir John Peace
Likewise, the story of Experian can be traced back as far as 1900, across three continents, to three primary organizations. Over the subsequent century, a series of events, mergers, splits, and reorganizations would uniquely position the combination of Europe’s leading information services company, CCN; the largest credit bureau in the U.S., TRW; and Brazil’s first credit agency, Serasa to form Experian—the world’s leading information services company.
That was 1996. Today, Experian provides data and analytical tools to clients around the world and across almost every major industry, from telecommunications and healthcare to government and automotive. Though our past is diverse, an analysis of our history shows some pervasive consistencies:
We are risk-takers, repeatedly taking big bets on new markets and groundbreaking technology to move our business forward.
We are fierce, and often relentless, in our determination to see things through.
We question everything—from the smallest service detail to an entire business model—always with a willingness to break the mold.
These themes are woven throughout our past and will continue to define our efforts long into the future.
What you bring makes a world of difference. At Experian, the angle through which we approach the data we collect, the lens through which we view a consumer’s needs, and the perspective we take on the challenges faced by a particular business or region are different for each and every situation we face. Which means diversity is a critical element of our offering.
Shaped by individual experiences, cultures, and ideas, the unique perspectives each of our 17,000 global employees bring combines to create the useful products, smart solutions, and creative insights that drive our ongoing success. From the people we work with to the businesses we partner with, we build upon the strength of our differences.
Guided by the Heart of Experian, we are focused on performance and provide an environment in which our people can apply their passions and truly excel.
Data is infinite. It’s everywhere. It’s everything. And its collection, analysis, and application motivate everything we do here at Experian. When you harness the trillions of data points that surround and inform everyday actions, you amplify the meaning of those actions and give them the predictive power to inform and guide decisions. What kinds of decisions?
Well, for individuals, we guide healthy financial decision-making by empowering them to understand, manage, and protect their credit information.
For the entrepreneur looking to open a storefront, the information we power can help determine the neighborhood, street, or even exact address that will ensure the most foot traffic.
For marketers, it can help guide campaign planning—like when to start that holiday advertising and which cross-channel approach to pursue to stay ahead of the competition.
For individuals and organizations, we supply solutions that can safeguard against international crimes such as fraud and identity theft.
For the industry-leading retailer, we can map trends, apply predictive modeling, and increase ROI through made-to-order, high-performance solutions.
At Experian, we understand that it takes creativity, passion, and expertise to unlock the power of data and bring it to life. We know that fresh perspectives can spur inspiration, often leading to a new way of tackling a challenge.

I worked at Experian Americas full-time
Up to date on technology, competitive in job market in regards to salaries, focused on training and development, benefits are easy to use and understand, international company
Ruthless when it comes to profit margin, tends to focus more on high performers at the expense of others, some groups very prone to extreme favoritism, upper management tends to turn a blind eye to moral issues.
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- No OfferNegative ExperienceDifficult Interview
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days – interviewed at Experian Americas (New York, NY) in June 2015.
Interviewer was not a full time employee but a consultant and at the start made it a point to tell me he had a lot of interviews today and he may not be able to cover everything. He then proceeded ask a number of technical questions which I had no problem answering (even though I was told this was a purely management roll). When I tried to talk about managing a team and also budgets and strategy interviewer quickly changed back to technical in an almost condescending way. It reminded me of when engineers get into it about how to design a network and ego's come into to play of "well I know more then you do". I found the interviewer very unprofessional especially when I mentioned I had looked him up on Linked In and he proceeded to Bash his previous employer. After about 25 min I was asked if I had questions so I asked how quickly were they looking to move? Answer "I have been interviewing folks for two months now and well you really don't have the technical skill set were looking for but I'll let HR know about our interview". My next question "Is this a Director roll or a Sr. Engineer role"? Answer well you need to be both, (see next questions below) and this is coming from a consultant! Impression I received was this person doesn't want any one hired so they can keep billing and the actual hiring manager /HR is to busy to see the forest for the tree's. I have retracted my application so even if an offer is made I will turn it down.
