Company History:

QAS Ltd was founded in the U.K. in 1990, with North American operations commencing in 2001. In October of 2004, QAS Ltd. was acquired by Experian, the leading global information services company, providing data and analytical tools to clients around the world, where it became part of Experian Marketing Services. In September of 2007, QAS Ltd. changed its name to Experian QAS.

In October 2013, the company changed its name to Experian Data Quality to better demonstrate its expanding portfolio of data quality software and services. Experian Data Quality continues to innovate and drive to deliver market-leading functionality and unrivalled service support to all of our customers.

About Experian:

Our parent company, Experian, is the leading global information services company, providing data and analytical tools to clients in more than 80 countries. The company helps businesses to manage credit risk, prevent fraud, target marketing offers and automate decision making. Experian also helps individuals to check their credit report and credit score and protect against identity theft.

As an organization, we place great importance on our people and the essential role they play in our success. We are a team of committed professionals who enjoy working and socializing together in a fast-moving but fun environment.

At Experian Data Quality, we firmly believe in the importance of socializing outside the office. Some of the social activities include:

  • Month End Celebrations - On the last day of every month, all employees gather to celebrate the victories of the previous month.

  • Holiday Party - Every December, we hold a black-tie gala in Boston which includes dinner, dancing and entertainment. At previous holiday parties, we've gambled for prizes at a Las Vegas-themed event, seen Cirque de Soleil entertainers jump over our Chief Operating Officer, and enjoyed the entertainment of Cher and Elvis impersonators!

  • Company Day - Employees participate in a business meeting to recap the successes of the previous year and look forward to the goals for the year ahead. After the meeting, we have a team building activity followed by a party. Past Company Day activities include F1 racing, bowling, a scavenger hunt around Boston, and an interactive comedy show.

Experian Data Quality is a fast-growing contact data quality software provider. Our headquarters is in Boston and we have offices in New York and San Francisco. Our workspace is designed with collaboration in mind, with teams sitting in pods rather than cubicles. This fosters a culture of working together to achieve results among every department and all 165 employees.

With a work smart, play hard mentality, Experian Data Quality is a rewarding place to work! It is a place to learn new skills, expand your career and have your accomplishments celebrated. Internal promotion is encouraged and management is always willing to help you reach your development goals.

Experian Data Quality chooses ambitious, driven employees who thrive on challenges. If you are looking to launch your career in an energetic, fun environment, please visit: www.qas.com.careers.

We have a common framework guiding our investment in people, which binds us together as an organization and enables us to have a common understanding of how we value our employees.

These core values guide our training programs, our commitment to internal promotion, and our shared ability to solve problems. Innovation and hard work move our company forward. These values are qualities we embody, expect in new employees, and drive our success.

Experian Data Quality has 6 core values:

  • Curiosity
  • Integrity
  • Mutual respect
  • Passion
  • Responsibility
  • "Work smart, play hard"

If you embody these values, we would strongly urge you to apply to work for Experian Data Quality. You'll be surrounded by others who feel the same way you do.

Experian Data Quality works with the non-profit organization Boston Cares to coordinate volunteer projects for our staff to give back to the community. Our employees also choose a charity each quarter and hold raffles to raise money for causes that are meaningful to us.

Our parent company, Experian, also works with Habitat for Humanity to help build homes around the country. Recently, Experian Data Quality employees volunteered over two days to help put siding on a home in Jamaica Plain, MA.

Experian Data Quality provides employees with opportunities to work as part of a team, build mentoring relationships, socialize, compete, and celebrate our success.

Your career at Experian Data Quality will take you as far as you want to go. This is a rapidly-growing business with significant opportunity for personal career growth.

    Pros

-Commitment to the committed. If you are willing to put in the time and energy here, you can expect a lot in return.
-Career development training. They do an excellent job at providing training opportunities for management and staff.
-The people. For the most part, it's a close knit-group of people that work hard and play hard together - and they do it well. Also, most people are genuinely good people, which is pretty hard to find these days.
-Professional Services and Customer Account Managers are top of their game. They manage well and have an obvious desire to want to make QAS great for customers and employees. Employees can learn a lot from them.
-The benefits. You'll be hard pressed to find 3-4 weeks vacation and low-cost HMO plan out there. Having a family, this was a huge bonus for me.
-It's fun. Between monthly celebrations awarding and recognizing success stories, to quarterly team outings, volunteering, annual christmas party and impromptu drinks after a long day - it's a fun place to work (I was pregnant most of my QAS tenure and still enjoyed after work gatherings with the team).
The only reason I left QAS was that I had a terrible commute and also decided to work part-time closer to home due to expecting my second child. Otherwise, I would not have left.

    Cons

-Strict start time. The 8:00 sharp start time was a struggle for me and others. While I can appreciate the need for everyone to arrive on time, I believed the strict start time was a bit much (particularly as it was expected for most to work past 5 and most commuted on the T - which isn't always dependable).
-Product Training. Product-level explanations could be better (particularly for those without software/hardware experience - like me).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Beef up the training program a bit. Try to ignore the tardiness of folks arriving between 8:00-8:10 (particularly for top performers).

    Sales Development Associate Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Boston, MA
    Application Details

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a weekinterviewed at Experian Data Quality US in December 2013.

    Interview Details

Amazingly, the process only took a couple of days. I first got an email of interest and accepted. Then I planned for a phone screening which was good. Then finally got a look at the office with a face-to-face interview.

The place was right in the heart of Boston around the Financial District, near South Station. I remember the interview taking place some time after 5pm - LATE. As I exited South Station there was a plethora of humanity exiting the office buildings. No joke. It’s as if there was a fire drill and everyone had to vacate the premises. It was an incredible sight to see.

But then I realized one specific building that didn’t have people coming out of it. I thought it was a residential building – some high-rise condo or something. When I arrived it was nothing more than an office building. The reviews for this place were right – You come in to work before 8am and don’t leave until after 6pm!!

Inside, as I waited patiently, I noticed the structure of the office – there were cubicles but divided into sections. One section of cubicles had really sociable workers and looked as if they were enjoying their work while the other section had quiet workers.

    Interview Questions
    • At the interview we were sitting in what looked like to be a mini library. It was a casual interview at first until it started going full speed. Some of the questions were confusing. I guess it was a technique to throw me off balance. All in all, the experience was so-so.

When was the last time you had a “happy accident?”
