I have been working at Explorica Inc full-time (More than a year)
-Amazing perks like free travel and company outings
-Calm, quiet summers and a management who likes their employees to travel means lots of opportunity for vacation time in the summer
-Flexible hours, as long as you produce you can basically set your own schedule
-Casual attire - you don't need to buy a whole new wardrobe!
-Young staff, which can make for a really fun work environment
-Young staff, which can also make for a somewhat less professional environment
-Low pay for your first season, building the skills you need to make commission is a rough process for some
-Not a lot of room for growth or increase in responsibility, and despite being a relatively young and small company a surprising resistance to change and new ideas
-High turnover, which can be unsettling
Advice to Management
Invest in your staff and make it worthwhile to stay! It's worth it to not have such a high turnover and have to retrain all the time. Be open to ideas and build a little more consistency across management. Also, for a sales/customer service team that has lots of ladies (maybe 75-80%), it's sad to see so few (nearly none!) in management.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks – interviewed at Explorica Inc (Boston, MA) in May 2013.
I had a phone screen and then was brought in for 2 separate in person interviews. The in person interviews were a combination of 1 on 1 interviews and group panels. They are very relaxed while interviewing and make you feel at ease. If you have a lot of promise, you will be able to tell that they are interested in hiring you. Its important to be confident and personable. They want to know that you are great with people.

I didn't need to negotiate much for this job. I did push them into making an offer quicker since I was waiting to accept another position.
