Reethi I., Employee since 2011
Sr. Outcomes Research Manager
St. Louis, MO
Reethi I. came to Express Scripts after an internship with the department of chronic disease prevention and health promotion at the World Health Organization (WHO) where she supported research on HIV and cancer by identifying best-practice models of care for HIV-AIDS related cancer types. In her role at Express Scripts, she is responsible for providing timely and scholarly research related to use of prescription medications that help develop innovative products to improve patient outcomes.
“I like my job because it actually pays me to do what I love doing – providing solutions for healthcare issues that can be readily applied to see actual improved outcomes,” Reethi says. “I work in a one-of-a-kind state-of-the-art lab with the most brilliant people in the business-- who share the same passion and commitment towards the same goal. And I get paid for it. Who wouldn’t like that?”
Nicole B., Employee since 2006
As a specialist pharmacist in the Cardiovascular Therapeutic Resource Center, Nicole B. arms cardiovascular patients and their physicians with actionable data that ensures the best possible health outcomes.
“Instead of checking prescriptions as a primary job function, as a specialist pharmacist I am able to directly work with patients and prescribers and help them achieve the best possible clinical outcomes,” Nicole says. “It can be very challenging to share so much of our patients’ lives. But being able to help a patient when they need it the most is why I love my job.”
“Every patient has a unique story and I love being a part of their journey towards a happy and healthy life,” she says.
Charlene S., Employee since 2005
RN Clinical Nurse Specialist
Pine Brook, NJ
As RN Clinical Nurse Specialist, Charlene leads a team of professional nurses.
“I feel privileged to have an outstanding staff that works as a team to succeed in providing our patients optimal care. Being a leader at Express scripts to me means having the ability to recognize and support my staff - encouraging them to reach their full potential to perform in an ever-changing healthcare environment. Meeting and exceeding the expectations of our patients and their physicians is the primary focus of the Express Scripts nursing organization- and the reason that we come to work every day.
“Express Scripts gives nurses the freedom to administer care with full support from senior management. The company’s commitment to excellence makes me proud to be part of the organization.
Suman K., Employee since 2010
Sr. Outcomes Research Manager
St. Louis, MO
It is likely that no one in the world knows more about your future health behavior than Suman K.. Suman is among a cadre of young scientists at Express Scripts poring through large datasets to create algorithms that predict what you will do in the future. Among his recent algorithms are some that predict how likely it is that you will take your medication as prescribed by your doctors (the cost of medication non-adherence in the US is $100-300 billion annually). This team also predicts how likely it is that you will return to the hospital following a discharge (costs related to return visits are approximately $25 billion annually). These challenges have remained untouched largely because healthcare providers didn’t know how to tackle them until it was too late. Algorithms such as Suman’s will help providers to focus on patients who are most likely to present problems and thereby keep all of our health bills in check. “Predicting the future, though complex, is always exciting and fun. That’s what I do every day at Express Scripts. The most interesting part is to come up with a strategy to potentially improve the health outcomes of patients,” Suman says. “The bottom line is… my job is all about predicting the future to save lives and that’s what gives me a whole lot of satisfaction.”

Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- Accepted OfferPositive ExperienceAverage Interview
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Express Scripts (Bloomington, MN).
Step i - brief call from HR, just to set up the interview. Step 2 - in office for face to face with Mgr and Director. About a week later received an offer. My situation was very basic. Since I had a background in the area I was interviewing for, it went fairly fast
- I was not asked anything that was strange or hard, just some basic things like, how did you handle x situation. Answer Question
At Express Scripts we manage prescription benefits for hundreds of millions of Americans on behalf of thousands of clients, including health plans and plan sponsors. Employers, unions and government organizations throughout the nation rely on our services. Our team of more than 30,000 employees expresses passion, expresses care and expresses enthusiasm for our mission.
Mission: We help make the use of prescription drugs safer and more affordable. It's been our mission since 1986, when a group of healthcare advocates began applying the rigors of scientific research to the pharmacy benefit. With the country facing hundreds of billions of dollars of prescription-related waste each year from costly drug, pharmacy and health choices, our mission remains as relevant as ever.
