    Pros

Great location right in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. Easy to commute to via bus/light rail. Challenging work with a diverse group of intelligent people who are dedicated. You'll be busy but most teams function well and if you're able to hold your end up you will do well.

    Cons

Some might say that there's a bit too much of a hierarchy, even for a law firm. There are so many roles at the firm that your mileage may vary. Some attorneys can be friendly and demanding at the same time; others not so friendly and, while talented at what they do, interpersonal relationships may be a weakness. To be fair, this also applies to some support staff, so your experience will really depend on how well you can function as a team member and the luck of the draw as to who's on your immediate team.

    Advice to Management

No advice other than to create more opportunities for training and advancement. Sometimes people become stuck in their roles and may not have much opportunity for advancement...actively recruit within the firm to fill upcoming vacancies .

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Faegre Baker Daniels (Denver, CO) in July 2015.

    Interview

Very long. It took one month to hear back from the time I put in my resume. At that time I did a phone interview. After another month I was asked to come in for an in-person interview. The interview itself was very straightforward and both the recruiting manager and hiring manager were pleasant and easy to talk with. After a week and a half I received a form email that they were moving forward with other candidates. While the long time between interviews and hearing from the organization was frustrating it also gave me a chance to really think about whether the position was a good fit for me and that was helpful.
