I have been working at FairPoint Communications (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay, benefits, commissions; opportunities for wage increases. We have a great trainer. We have underwent many changes in the 7+ years I have been employed here, and it has not always been easy--however, we are left with a (smaller) work crew now that for the most part like/love their jobs and truly care about the company. The management in our office is supportive, and the employees in the office are supportive of each other--We are in this together!

    Cons

A little short staffed at times...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I am very happy with management in our area. We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Sunu a couple times in our office, and genuinely liked him. We know and understand that it's up to all of us to retain and add new business, or there will be the possibility of layoffs

    Application Details

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 5 daysinterviewed at FairPoint Communications.

    Interview Details

Phone screen was thorough. In person was expedient! Hired by the end of my interview. Hiring manager was very pressured to hire people and that was evident walking into the meeting. Got more than i was asking for by upping my dollars after i was offered the job on the spot!

    Negotiation Details
Was poorly managed. Director who hired wouldn't touch negotiating benefits (vacation) and deferred to HR who would not discuss either.
