Fast Enterprises – Why Work For Us?

Fast Enterprises (FAST) started in 1997 with a vision to introduce packaged software to the integrated tax processing market.

Our mission is to be the premier provider of software and consulting services to government agencies. FAST is firmly committed to on-time delivery of quality products and services that provide excellent value to our customers.

Today, FAST has over 550 professionals and we continue to grow at a steady rate. Our consultants are engaged on implementation projects working on-site in client offices at the city, state/provincial, and federal levels in North America, Malaysia, Laos, Poland, Finland, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago. In addition, we have product support staff and administrative staff working out of our three office locations.

At FAST, our employees are given an opportunity to make a difference from day one. We provide a collaborative environment that supports, mentors, and gives you guidance throughout your career. We work together as a team both inside and outside of the office.

When you begin your career with FAST, you will join one of our sites throughout the United States, Canada, and several international locations.

Fast Enterprises (FAST) is a software and information technology consulting service for government agencies. FAST offers commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software that helps agencies reduce costs, improve service to constituents, maximize revenues and improve the efficiency of internal operations.

FAST offers three solutions: an integrated tax solution (GenTax®), a driver services and motor vehicle solutions (FastDS™, FastVS™, and FastDS-VS™), and an unemployment insurance solution (FastUI®). FAST software leverages the latest technology to provide browser-based, platform independent, SOA compliant and highly scalable solutions running on industry standard technology.

FAST is an atypical software consulting firm because our employees get to live and work at a location until your skill set is needed elsewhere. When you join FAST you join one of our client sites and work with them directly to archive their old software system and to implement our product. We currently have 31 client sites in the United States, three client sites in Canada, and six federal client sites.

As FAST continues to gain new clients, we are always looking for qualified candidates. We have full-time career opportunities for individuals at all experience levels. We look for candidates with integrity, combined with analytical, business, and communication skills.

I have been working at Fast Enterprises full-time

The open and flat level atmosphere is really something I have been looking for in the past. FAST isn't just a company, but also a team of great individuals. They all work together for a common goal and they are always more than willing to help their fellow worker. I see the travel as a strong and useful step in people's lives and I can't wait for more.

This hardly counts as a con, but I have to wait for a little while until I can go work on their overseas projects.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Fast Enterprises.

    Interview Details

The first stage was a phone interview with my recruiter. She asked me basic questions: such as would I be ok relocating, future goals, what I knew about the company. After I spoke with her on the phone I had a second phone interview with a training coordinator who had been with the company for many years. At the conclusion of the second phone interview they offered to fly me out to Denver for a final interview.

The interview was very sterile. After being seated in a meeting room I met with an HR rep who talked to me a little bit about the company. She then gave me a Mensa test to fill out. After the HR rep left I was interviewed by two training coordinators. The interview consisted problem solving questions about fruit baskets and another about water. Mostly I asked the interviewers questions after I had finished the logic problems. Upon the conclusion of the interview I was invited to lunch.

If I had not spoken with such lovely, friendly, and outgoing people in my second interview and at lunch, my decision to accept employment would have been much different.

Looking back on accepting the offer I wish I had negotiated salary.

    Interview Questions
    • You have three baskets labeled with apples, oranges and a combination of apples and oranges. One is filled with apples. One is filled with oranges. One is a combination of the two. All the labels of the baskets are completely wrong. If I tell you I pulled an apple from basket A, what are basket B and C filled with?

The first basket is labeled apples and the second is oranges and the third is combo. (Hypathetically)
