FedBid is an amazing company for getting your feet wet in the working world, and for creating opportunities and learning experiences early on in your career that you most certainly won't get at larger companies. In order to succeed, you must be hardworking and have a drive to want to do well. If you have that passion, you'll go far.

Works life balance struggles. In order to do well and work your way through the ranks, long hours and weekends are spent glued to your computer and phone. That's not to say they won't let you take vacation, but it's frowned upon and can hurt your image if vacation is taken anytime between June and September. Loss of knowledge and communication between job tites. Upper management rarely has the opportunity to discuss accounts or convey sound advice to lower level employees, and relies heavily on middle management for this. In this sense, knowledge and information is construed or miscommunicated, sometimes hurting the account and making it difficult for lower level employees to strive to do well.

    Advice to Management

LISTEN to your people and take ACTION on what they say. Many times your frontline Acount Managers and Senior Account Managers know more than you think. When they're being grilled for numbers and account plans, you miss out on the Intel that explains the trends you're seeing on the board. Be transparent internally. It'll go farther than you know.

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at FedBid (McLean, VA) in May 2015.

The interview consisted of a three part process. The first part was a phone interview. The second part was an interview with, the HR recruiter, the accounting manager, and then fellow staff accountants. This was not a panel interview, and you would interview with these parties separately. The third interview consisted of meeting with the CFO.
