I have been working at Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Challenging positions, excellent opportunities for advancement. Once you prove yourself, your reputation carries a lot of weight. On-site exercise facility and game room. Food service is excellent.

    Cons

Sometimes projects require many overtime hours with no real reward except that upline management acknowledges your efforts. Work from home policy is more fair than it was a few years ago, but by far not fair across the board. Some positions are 100% work from home while the same position in another department or division doesn't offer that option.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work from home opportunities need to be fair across the board, in all districts and in all entities.

The hiring process is a little bit confusing for this company. It has connections with private recruiters and looks like the only way to get into it is via a recruiter. Interview process takes 2-3 weeks. The interviewers does not seem to have hands on knowledge. They only have some theoretical questions. Overall I am not very optimistic about this company. It does not seem to be a good fit for a software engineer who seeks rapid development with advanced technology.
