I have been working at First American Equipment Finance full-time

    Pros

Over the past 20 or so years I have worked at a lot different companies, both large and small across a wide variety of industries. Throughout my career, I have never been associated with a company that has had such a unique and forward thinking culture. Every place I've been has talked about the importance of the employee, the customer and building long-term shareholder value. First American is the only company in my experienced that actually lives this every day. From the CEO on down, there is a genuine interest in the success of the individual, the experience of the customer and continuing to evolve into the company that will continue to be successful twenty years from now.

    Cons

First American is growing rapidly and is having to quickly evolve and adapt to change. If you are someone who can't be enthusiastic about this kind of environment, First American may not be for you.

    Advice to Management

Work hard to maintain the culture you've built as you continue growing into a larger company.

    Credit Analyst Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at First American Equipment Finance (Rochester, NY).

    Interview

Was brought in to interview for what I thought was a credit analyst position. Like another reviewer mentioned the process started with about 20 minutes of paperwork. That was followed up with a web based personality / IQ test and a short writing sample exercise. Somewhat excessive for an initial interview but I rolled with it. Process moved on with a few 30 minute interviews with VP level staff who looked fresh out of college. Obviously they never worked anywhere else of substance. Easy questions. Followed by a light lunch. Post lunch I'm told there is no available credit position!!! Instead told I would be great at cold calling about 100 doctors offices daily for the huge base salary of $30,000. NOT! Needless to say a huge waste of time and forever tarnished my view of the company.

Success doesn't go unnoticed at First American Equipment Finance, a technology leasing company. Newly won business is announced via digital signs around the office, alerting co-workers with music and the transaction details so everyone can celebrate together. That's because an individual win is a group win at the company, which offers all employees profit sharing and bonuses based on the year's results.
