I have been working at First American Equipment Finance full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I've worked at other companies before finding First American. I find this company to be merit based and ambitious, which is good for me and my career. It was recently named the Best Company to Work for in New York. Solid benefits, iPads, and a free health club membership are among the nice perks. I have also seen more transparency and integrity here than I've seen elsewhere. A great opportunity.

    Cons

It's a hard job. I'm challenged every day and put in a lot of hours. Even after a success, we always stop and consider what could have been done better. That can be hard to hear, even though it is the right thing to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great upbeat and positive culture. Please continue to focus on it.

    Credit Analyst Interview

    Application Details

The process took a dayinterviewed at First American Equipment Finance.

    Interview Details

Was brought in to interview for what I thought was a credit analyst position. Like another reviewer mentioned the process started with about 20 minutes of paperwork. That was followed up with a web based personality / IQ test and a short writing sample exercise. Somewhat excessive for an initial interview but I rolled with it. Process moved on with a few 30 minute interviews with VP level staff who looked fresh out of college. Obviously they never worked anywhere else of substance. Easy questions. Followed by a light lunch. Post lunch I'm told there is no available credit position!!! Instead told I would be great at cold calling about 100 doctors offices daily for the huge base salary of $30,000. NOT! Needless to say a huge waste of time and forever tarnished my view of the company.
