I have been working at Flatirons Solutions

Some of the smartest people I've ever worked with anywhere. Most are incredibly talented, friendly and driven to succeed. But unlike other highly talented software engineers, they're also the most helpful and approachable when you have a question.

It's consulting, so it's about the billable hours. With that in mind, work/life balance can easily get out of whack between the long hours and travel demands. You need to be flexible schedule-wise, but you also need to remind management that you do have a life outside of work. In reality though, it's no different than in other consulting firms, but to a lesser degree (some consulting firms will grind you to nub with the long hours and much more frequent travel).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maintain transparency and open doors. It's worked so far. Be mindful of your employees' needs and balance them with the business.
