Vision: “Committed to helping people and communities achieve better health.”

Mission: We believe Florida Blue has a unique role in advancing the health and well-being of Florida’s citizens. While all successful companies must focus on meeting customer needs, our corporate beliefs call for a much greater commitment to the public good.

Our purpose requires working for public policy that enables an excellent, efficient health system; affordable products and services; and protection for as many Floridians as possible. It also demands that our programs support the delivery of high-quality care.

Through our products, employee relations, political influence and community involvement, we consistently attempt to make a constructive contribution to the well-being of our customers and all Floridians.

At Florida Blue, we have a long history of providing health-related solutions to the people of Florida. Our roots date back to 1944. Ever since then, we have continued to grow and expand.

Today, our focus remains primarily on the health industry, but we are more than just a health insurer. We are committed to meeting the diverse needs of the health industry in ways that continue to evolve each and every day.

The protection we offer begins with our members, but doesn't end with them. We also take responsibility for helping the uninsured and those less fortunate in our communities. Our efforts are focused on advancing the health and well-being of Florida's citizens through education, health and community development programs.

As one of the most diverse states in the nation, Florida has the largest population of people over the age of 65 - which will continue to grow as baby boomers retire and seek the pleasures of the Sunshine State. Our state's economic engine is fueled by small businesses, with over 20 percent of those businesses owned by Hispanics and African Americans. Nearly one in 10 of all foreign-born residents in the United States live in Florida. And the state's growing multicultural communities, among them African American, Black Caribbean, Hispanic, Asian and Native American, represent nearly 40 percent of Florida's population.

We have the privilege of insuring and servicing more than four million Floridians - each with a unique combination of characteristics, including gender, age, ethnicity, education, religion, income, family status and experiences. As Florida's growing population continues to change, we are committed to expanding our cultural competence to understand and address the varied perspectives and health needs of all communities.

And with this continued focus, Florida Blue can offer you many career opportunities across the state of Florida within a diverse work environment, complemented by a wealth of training, networking and mentoring programs. As one of our dedicated associates, you will have plenty of opportunities to fully develop your talents. And by promoting and supporting work/life balance and providing excellent employee benefits, our goal at Florida Blue is to become one of the best places to work.

Join us and become part of the next phase of the Florida Blue story.

They came to my college campus to recruit. They asked 3 behavioral questions and one analytical question. Two of the behavioral questions were: how have you encouraged teamwork? How have you dealt with a difficult team member respectfully? How have you moved towards a goal (aside from trying to pass actuarial exams)?
