I have been working at Florida Department of State full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Benefits help make up for the lower pay rate as compared to privately held companies. Individual teams are great to work with.

    Cons

The work can be stressful with constant changes between departments regarding rules and regulations. Once the contract is signed, forget about yearly wage increases. Bonuses for reviews just started after an 8 year stint of no pay increase.

The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Florida Department of State in August 2010.

    Interview Details

The interview was very casual, had to get fingerprints and background done, as well as drug test. Met with the interviewer in the lobby of they offices inside the Gray building. It was pretty short and sweet and ended with me signing papers for the background check and given papers for the fingerprinting. I was called shortly after all that was completed and started soon after.
