I worked at Focus Features as an intern (Less than a year)RecommendsNeutral OutlookApproves of CEORecommendsNeutral OutlookApproves of CEO
Had a great experience working with executives and directors in all departments. As an intern, we all had a lot of exposure to all the projects in various stages of development and production. My supervisor was helpful and informative. I found my position here more than just an intern, but a valuable team member to the company.
I made some requests to be more involved in the director's day to day work (in communicating with agents and executives) but time restraint was an unfortunate factor (not their fault) in denying this request.
Unfortunately there is no room for career opportunities.
THE OFFICE IS NOW CLOSED! Such a shame. There were some great people working together there.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day – interviewed at Focus Features (New York, NY) in December 2013.
Quite informal. General questions and goals in mind. Only done by phone, although I had a network connection from my previous intern position. My interviewer, who was to be my supervisor, was very kind and straight forward. No trick questions. I actually didn't even have time to prepare for the interview. It almost seemed like a check just to see if I was normal and decent. The referral from my present job at the time probably helped in reassuring her I was qualified.
