Overall the company is a good one to work for. They are frugal towards their employees, to a fault.

I worked at Franklin Templeton Investments full-time for more than 10 years

Hands down, the employees are what made my experience a great one. They are selective with their hiring and thus makes for a great experience. The company also recognizes work-life balance, they support their staff when issues arise and allow for time off for many covered personal matters. They really understand the emotional needs of their employees and this will always resonate with me.

They pay well under industry average when you promote to the management levels. Compensation is not fair and they offer no real perks to keep a long term employee happy. Also for the LGBT community they can discriminatory, the experiences I have seen on multiple occasions lend to this. Lastly, when you promote to entry level management there are few other career opportunities to keep the exempt employees engaged.
