I loved my job because it was so diverse. I worked in the Clerk of Superior Court's office 18 years with some great employees.

I worked at Fulton County Superior Court

    Pros

Work hours, major holidays off, excellent benefits; earning sick, vacation and compensatory leave; participation in community activities representing department and the county; employee orientation mandatory to learn county written policies and personnel policy. Great pension plans and benefits upon retirement.

    Cons

The last year I worked there I had not received a raise in over five years. County is very political when approving increases to department budget especially requests for new positions and upgrading departments technology. County is not concerned about low salaries and morale of employees. All department heads and elected officials need minimum of bachelor degree and ongoing training in management and personnel issues. Department heads, management and supervisors need to be more involved and aware of operational and human resources issues. Finally, county needs to reduce number of legal cases they lose and the millions of taxpayers dollars wasted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

See above in Cons Response. Executive and upper/middle management need attitude change and change in overall culture of intimidation and fear and favoritism shown to certain departments.
