    I have been working at Garden Ridge full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    executive leadership has great vision, taking the company in a great direction for future sales and career opportunities.

    Cons

    Company is still working on stream lining operations,seems like a good plan going forward. heavy freight and a huge store to operate on very lean payroll. disconnect between store operations demands and corporate demands.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    store management needs to be freed up from daily tasking, and freight processing,receiving, to focus on staff development,merchandising. also ability to react quickly to merchandise needs of a location to satisfy customer demand and service. District Management needs to more time spent on store reviews, to review positive results as well as negative results, and develop performance review process, to support GM in developing team in a consistent and positive manner.

    I applied in-person. The process took 1 week - interviewed at Garden Ridge in August 2013.

    Interview Details

    My interview involved me and one other girl. The interviewer basically explained what we would be doing if we got the job. We were not asked questions other than how open our schedules were and how much experience we had prior. In the end we were asked if we had any questions but the interviewer had explained the job very well. It was a simple and quick interview overall.
