I worked at General Photonics full-time (More than 10 years)RecommendsPositive OutlookRecommendsPositive Outlook
after working over 10 years in this company, I got more experience and be trained as professional luckily. With new new management style settled down two years ago, more orders are there compared with bad economics worldwide. Production need work overtime to complete shipments. Sales and marketing people are busy on trade shows, OFC, FOE, ECOC...R&D is busy on new product development, very healthy company. From last time, more employees be hired and lots of new comers are not familiar with this industry, lots of training need be conducted.
hardworking is needed, lots of pressure from customer side, delivery, delivery... Chinese employees are more than 50%, sometimes they speak native Chinese, ha-ha

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks – interviewed at General Photonics in March 2015.
Submitted the resume on Monster.com. Got contacted within one week. The hiring manager is the first one interviewing me, asking about my researches listed on my resume. Then, their owner and CEO spoke with me two times, one on phone while the other is video call on the skype. He asked me my researches again and some simple optical questions. Offer was sent to me two weeks after the interview. I declined this offer due to several reasons. The package is really bad, low salary, bad benefits, ect.. They do not have any guideline. What you would have is just depending on the CEO's decision. And I think he want to try to save money from his employee badly. No onsite interview, low salary, and he likes to let the new employee start the full time job as an intern for one year or more... Really bad experience. I felt there would be no future working at General Photonics, so I declined this offer. At last, I do not recommend working at this company if there is another option.
