I have been working at Gentex (Michigan) full-time (more than 10 years)

Good quarterly profit-sharing bonuses, pleasant co-workers, supportive atmosphere. Its a good place to gain experience in that people tend to be cooperative rather than competitive in the workplace. Gentex also supports the concept of family first.

Executive leadership is losing sight of the little guys. It's become a cut-throat power struggle at the upper level instead of the cooperation necessary to move the company forward with new products. Need to broaden product lines to remove dependency on the automotive market.

    Interview Details

Submitted my resume through a college career fair. Was contacted my an HR recruiter requesting a phone interview to discuss potential employment options at the company. This led to a phone interview with the software test manager. Later I was asked to come in for about 5 one-hour long interviews. A few weeks later I was called back for a second on-site interview that was a bit shorter. The entire process took almost 2 months.

It serves customers worldwide, but its largest base includes big carmakers: Toyota, General Motors, and Volkswagen. Its products are found as standard or optional features on more than 200 vehicle models. To a lesser degree, Gentex also makes and sells dimmable aircraft windows found on... More
