I have been working at Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance

    Pros

The do have values as a company - and they have a good moral and ethical base. Working conditions are good and benefits are great

    Cons

Automation challenged - management stopped in place for about 25 years and have only recently started to make up ground. Lost marketshare also. Finally - politics from farmers who want to control the insurance company and manipulate it to generate memberships in the non-profit side are the biggest threat to the long term viability of this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get more strategic and less tactical - make investments based upon clear bold visions and not reactions to board meeting comments made by unprepared farmers. Politics can kill this company.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 2 daysinterviewed at Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance in September 2010.

    Interview Details

The online profile test was long & went over a lot of different skills & personality traits. They said it would take an hr but it took me almost 2 yrs. I was interviewed by 2 claims managers who were very through in their bahavioral style interview. They asked probably between 15-20 questions. They also allowed at the end for me to ask them any questions, which I did & they answered them all to my satisfaction & were very positive about the company. In ending they said that I could call them if I had any additional questions or info. to give them. They told me it would take up to 2 wks to find out if I got an offer.
