I worked at Global Marketing Concepts (Columbia, MD) as an intern (less than a year)

One of my favorite things about working for GMC was that it had such a professional environment in which learning, training, and teamwork were heavily emphasized. Everyone has a leader in the office that trains you and works with you on anything you need to improve on. If they weren't the best person to help you with a particular aspect of the job, they made sure that the person in the office best at that aspect worked with you so you can learn and improve. I also really liked having the opportunity to work with so many different types of clients. I learned a lot about working with all different people and rounding out my professional experiences. For an internship, I learned a million times more about myself as a professional and about business in general.

The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was working in many different areas. It was fun to travel around but the commutes ate up a lot of my profits in gas.

This company sells t-mobile plans to businesses and their employees at a "discounted" price. The employees are very unprofessional from their speech to their clothing. This is the first thing I noticed when I walked through the door. Anyways, everyone is called in for a first round interview. Only select candidates are called in for the second full day interview. During the full day interview you get to see what the company really is about. The employees basically go around and try to get people to sign up for a t-mobile plan right there as they are working their own jobs. As you can imagine, most people were bothered. After they reach their daily quota, they are able to go home. The salary is mostly commission with a small base salary (a few hundred per pay period). Bottom line, putting mileage on your car for a $600 paycheck is not worth it. There is no limit to how far you can be sent out. If you're someone with a college degree, this should be your last resort.
