    I worked at Grand Homes Inc. full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    They set you up to succeed, they rest is up to you. They offer a month training program with 2-3 months base salary and an additional training program every quarter. The model homes in the community are there to wow the customers, your job is to do the rest. Its great pay if you can establish sales in your first two-three weeks, if your only sale comes in your second month watch out your starting to sink and probably will not last. They promote from within after a long while.

    Cons

    Office gossip, don't fall prey to the "he said/she said" or the "you have to watch your back with this one"...... keep focus on your job. If you leave or your fired the commissions you have on the books will not be given to you. The managers ride you like a horse if your not making sales, also they have their favorites already. Be prepared for the managers to talk down to you as well, have to have thick skin. Private home builder, so they don't have enough skin in the game to build out your communities.... be prepared to sell the "one of a kind dream home". You will loose sells to the bigger competition drees, ashtonwoods, beazer, toll brothers because they have homes completed and on the ground ready for move in.

    Interview Details

    Met with a area sales manager and then interviewed with the division VP and finally the owner for a brief period. Took some personality tests and they have their own application to fill out. They also perform a background check.

    Negotiation Details
    No. $2,000 month for 60 days as a salary during training. Then another $2,000 as a draw for the third month then straight commission at 2%. It's hard to stay unless you have savings. They take way more than 90 days to get a home started.
