I have been working at Great Plains Coca-Cola full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Plenty of opportunities for advancement. Solid feedback on your job performance. Challenging pace. Great and helpful management team. Excellent supervisors.

    Cons

Lackluster retirement program. Poor benefits. Very little paid time off available. Very high turnover. Some very tedious / repetitive work staying compliant with DOT regulations and the company. In the time that I have been there I have been asked to fill out various "new employee" forms about 6 times. They continuously lose paperwork.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more competitively to retain hourly employees and empower management to let the "slackers" go.

I applied in-person. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at Great Plains Coca-Cola.

    Interview Details

At first I was interviewed for the Side load trucks. The interviewer said I was over qualified since I already had a cdl and driving experience. I was referred to a second interview with another supervisor. I was hired on the spot. I did have to go through a grueling physical exam. I didn't, however, have to take a drive test.

As a Coca-Cola bottler, Great Plains Coca-Cola Bottling Company slakes thirsts of folks who live on on the dusty plains of the US. The company distributes Coke products, as well as selected Dr Pepper products, throughout central and northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. It also operates a vending machine service under the name Snappy Snack Vending, which supplies customers with coffee, food, soft drinks, and other snacks. Great Plains was the first Coke bottler to use water-purification as part of its process. It was founded in 1922 by the family of CEO Robert Browne.
