Groendyke Transport

Our fleet of chemical trailers is one of the largest in North America. All are MC 307 or DOT 407 insulated stainless steel, and most are equipped with intransit heat and heat exchangers. We have single-barrel and multi-compartment configurations to maximize your options.

Our DOT 412 trailers are specifically designed for heavy corrosive liquids. The tanks have reinforced supports and roll guards over the valves so you can be assured that your product will be delivered safely.

Our asphalt trailers have a straight, round design. They are capable of hauling hot asphalt, emulsions, and residual products.

Groendyke molten sulfur trailers are unique units designed to transport a specialized product. Each is equipped with a breathing air bottle to ensure that our drivers load and unload safely.

Groendyke Transport drivers are among the most knowledgeable, well prepared, and experienced drivers in the truck carrier industry. Developing the skills of our people is one of the most important things we do. Drivers are paid an hourly rate while completing field training with a driver instructor.

Utilizing our in-house video-production facilities, our top-flight training is constantly updated to bring our employees the most up-to-date information available, making Groendyke drivers among the best-prepared and best-educated in the business.

Groendyke’s Driver Employee Training program is another great benefit to our new drivers. Not only do our seasoned drivers ride along with our new recruits, but they also mentor them throughout their training period, giving training tips, customer information, and product requirements to help them transport and handle our products safely and on time.

• At least 23 years of age.
• One year of tractor-trailer experience preferred. Top professional driving school graduates considered.
• Tank and hazardous endorsement.
• Meet all DOT qualifications in accordance with the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations, Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations.
• Meet company qualifications.
• Able to perform all essential functions and pass DOT physical.
• No more than three moving violations in the past three years (or five in the past five years).
• No more than two preventable accidents in past five years.
• No DUI or DWI within the past five years.

After one year with Groendyke Transport, drivers can apply to be a part of our mentoring team. We pair our experienced drivers with new recruits, allowing the trainees to get real-world experience and valuable training tips. The best way to learn about our many customer and product requirements is directly from the people who transport these products every day.

Qualifications:

• Groendyke employee for one year or more.
• No incidents or accidents in the previous 12 months.
• No customer complaints in the previous 12 months.
• Work well with others; team oriented.
• Approved by:
  • Safety Department
  • Training Department
  • Terminal Manager
  • Field Safety Coordinator

CLASS 0 DRIVER:
Fewer than six months of over-the-road driving experience, or has completed a driving course from an approved school, finishing in the top of the class, with good attendance. 28-day training plan. 

CLASS 1 DRIVER:
At least six months, but fewer than two years, of over-the-road driving experience. No tank. 28-day training plan. 

CLASS 2 DRIVER:
At least two years of over-the-road driving experience. No tank. 10-day training plan. 

CLASS 3 DRIVER:
At least two years of over-the-road driving experience with a minimum six months of tank. Five-day training plan. 

REHIRE DRIVERS:
Previously employed by Groendyke Transport for at least six months. Rehire. Two-day training plan.

Every new employee attends orientation sessions at our headquarters in Enid, Oklahoma, to learn about our company history, values, procedures and requirements. Drivers also have the opportunity to meet representatives from several different departments and get an overview of how the Groendyke team functions day-to-day.

• Bulk and hazardous material handling and transportation
• Operational and proper record completion procedures
• HM 126
• Logging, trip planning, time management
• Emergency response
