Medical (HMO and HSA), Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, AD&D and LTD are available the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.  The Firm pays for the employee cost for these benefits.  PPO and dependent cost is the responsibility of the employee.

KAISER:

Any employee can have the option to join the Kaiser Insurance plan for themselves and their family.  The purpose of this option is to save the employee their dependent costs.


DENTAL

GUARDIAN:

You can receive care from any licensed dentist, anywhere in the United States.  If you choose to see a non-participating dentist, you will be responsible for the coinsurance amount that is part of your program design as well as charges over and above Guardian’s allowance for covered services.

LIFE, AD&D, LTD

GUARDIAN:

LIFE:           Basic Term Benefit Amount               $50,000

Additional Voluntary Life Insurance is available, at a cost to the employee.  Please refer to the Principal enrollment package for more information.

LTD:           The firm maintains a long-term (90 days or more) disability policy covering all eligible                                         employees.

           

401 (K)

The firm presently offers a 401k Plan, which is managed by a professional money management firm.  Eligible employees may participate in the 401k Plan.  The firm does not make contributions to the plan.  Open enrollment occurs quarterly.

 

PROFIT SHARING PLAN

The firm presently maintains a profit sharing pension plan for the benefit of eligible employees.  Contributions to the Profit Sharing Plan are paid annually at the discretion of the Partners and are allocated on the basis of annual salaries.  A professional money management firm manages the plan assets.

 

DEPENDENT CARE

Employees may use pre-tax funds for dependent care expenses up to $5,000 a year.

 

MEDICAL UNREIMBURSED FLEXIBLE SPENDING

Employees may use pre-tax funds for unreimbursed medical expenses up to 2,500 per year with Wageworks.

 

PRE-TAX INSURANCE PREMIUMS

Employees may pay their share of dependent premiums for the company-sponsored insurance plan with pre-tax dollars.  Pre-tax premium contribution allows an employee to keep the same benefits while lowering his/her taxes and increasing take-home pay.  Employees can also purchase AFLAC insurance policies at a pre-tax premium.

 

OFFICE HOURS

Regular office hours are from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. with a 1-hour lunch.  The switchboard is open from 8:45 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

 

PAY PERIOD

Paychecks are distributed semi-monthly on the 15th and the last day of the month.

COMP TIME ACCRUALS

Professional employees are either paid straight time for their overtime hours or accumulate this time per payroll period.  The maximum comp Time limit is 120-banked hours.

 

HOLIDAYS

Full-time employees are eligible for seven paid holidays each year.  These holidays include New Years, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (2 days) and Christmas.  When a holiday falls on a weekend, we will observe the holiday in accordance with the national custom.

 

PARKING

The company provides paid parking in the parking garage.

 

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

The Firm will pay for and permit business hour attendance of up to 32 hours per calendar year.

 

CPA EXAMINATIONS

Employees who are CPA candidates will be given time off, with full pay, to sit for each section of the CPA examination twice.  This covers the days of the examination only.

    Forensic accounting is very interesting, and every project seems to be different so the work never gets repetitive. Flexible hours and an open door policy with superiors.
