I worked at H E B part-time (more than a year)Pros
-Great management leaders that actually care
-Opportunities to move up if you felt you were capable of doing more.
-Empowered employees to do whatever it took to make customers happy.
-Did well on staying up to date with equipmentCons
-Some departments had too much oversight. 4 different managers could be calling conflicting decisions if they didn't communicate. Made things awkward.
-When I was there, all the new hires got the same pay grade as the guys who had been there for 2 years. Was pretty demoralizing.Advice to ManagementAdvice
I think you guys do a fine job with the way the company is run. I would just encourage you to know that not everyone who tries for a promotion deserves it. Good employees (not me), have left because someone terrible got promoted and made the workplace unbearable. I suppose that happens everywhere though.RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEO
