I have been working at Hachette Book Group full-time

    Pros

The work environment is collaborative and the people are great. Benefits are cheaper than most companies

    Cons

Zero movement. Zero promotions. Executives keep hiring from outside. CIO left, SVP of sales left both jobs unfilled. Wasteful spending on advertising and still not embracing Amazon.

    Advice to Management

The executives should rely upon the people that are there and believe in the company and the product instead of continually hiring from the outside.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Hachette Book Group.

    Interview

They just were really horrible about being in contact for the whole process, I guess they weren't particularly interested but it was just really intermittent contact. The actual interview was over the phone and pretty straightforward, just asking about myself
