I worked at Harlem United Community Aids Center

    Pros

Afforded me many opportunities to embrace a chance to assist in finding a cure to end HIV/AIDS, with compassion, commitment and transparency.

    Cons

Leadership was scarcely demonstrated due in part to a very high employee turnover rate within the entire agency.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide a ground or forum that will allow employees to voice their barriers, concerns or discuss practices or policies that they believe need to be addressed without retaliation. Although, there is an HR Department as well as a Corporate Compliance Department employees still faced retaliation once they expressed anything.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Harlem United Community Aids Center in August 2014.

    Interview Details

I had a panel interview with clinical supervisors who were friendly and appeared very attentive to my responses. I felt comfortable asking questions because of their friendliness. The interview lasted about 45-60mins but it did not seem long because we were so engaged in our discussions of getting to know the agency and getting to know me as a candidate. Keep in mind that HR may take a while to process paperwork, background check, etc.

    Interview Questions
    • Usually interviewers will tell you about the agency, but I was asked 'can you tell us what you know about the agency?' Do your research beforehand of course! And something along the lines of 'what can you contribute to HU?'   Answer Question
