I have been working at Hartford Public Schools (Less than a year)
-I love my job and the students I work with - the people I work with are also great, they really make me feel connected to my job and commitment to it. - the pay is pretty decent, but if you're in this line of work that's not your motivating force behind it -most of the administration is reasonable, one not so much - Ms. Kishimoto, herself is wonderful, always engaged with her employees here and really connects with them. One of her administrators could actually learn a lot from her style though, on how to treat people right!!
- one of your administrators is very difficult to work for, they are always micro managing!!! Staff are grown-ups, not babies!! Work on the micro-management problem, and this will become a much better place to work. - that's pretty much the only main con, everything else is pretty good
Advice to Management
- read what I wrote above, about the endless level of micromanagement here!! - empower you staff a lot more, this is actually a lot easier than you think it is. Try active listening to what your staff really need, it really works!
