I worked at Hayneedle full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Pretty fun atmosphere. Fairly intelligent employees as a whole (these people need to be leveraged more).

    Cons

Worst time off policy I've ever heard of. You start with 2 weeks per year, that's it. No sick time, no "floating holidays", nothing else. So, you end up having a lot of sick people coming into the office because they don't want to burn vacation.

Pay is fairly low for the area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take risks. Now that their biggest competitor (Wayfair.com) has gone public and has an even bigger pile of cash, trying to go for projects that advance you 1-2% per year aren't going to cut it. You need to gamble a bit.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Hayneedle.

    Interview Details

Had a phone call interview with HR that was pretty "meh".
Had an in person interview with the hiring manager and the hiring manager's boss. They asked more detailed experience questions. Honestly, I think this interview was a joke. If you showed a mediocre amount of experience and could get along with the two, then I think you could get the offer.
Had an interview with 2 peers. Again, behavioral based questions. I don't think the two had much experience with interviews. Again, didn't take much to impress.

Overall, I think their interview process should be much more rigorous.
