“The most compelling thing about Helac is the fact that we make our own product and we are not constricted by others. The owner of Helac is driven and very involved in how the product is made. He is as invested in the company as his employees are.”

Kevin is responsible for planning the weekly production schedule and for running five machines for the small actuator value stream.

What do you like most about your job?

I enjoy the challenge of determining how many hours each part will take to produce so I can plan the weekly production schedule. I also take the lead on programming each machine and then running a series of tests to make sure the part is made correctly, before the part goes into production.

What about Helac enticed you to join the company?

The variety of machinery and the unique product that we manufacture enticed me to join Helac.

What do you like best about Helac’s culture?

I like the freedom here at Helac. When I am given a task I am allowed to accomplish the task the best way I think is possible to get that task completed.

What would you say to someone who wants to work at Helac?

If manufacturing sparks an interest in you and if you have the wiliness to learn and work hard, Helac would be a great place for you to work.

What is a little unknown fun fact about you?

I have five children and two of my children have worked at Helac with me.

Meet Jon

Shipping Clerk & Shipping Handler

Hired: 2007

“There are so many interesting and exciting things that go on here to manufacture the products. I get to see the large variety of finished products as they leave the building.”

Jon is responsible for scheduling freight pickup, crating and packaging outgoing product, and tracking all products being shipped out of Helac.

What about Helac enticed you to join the organization?

The benefits and pay are better than previous jobs. Plus, the opportunity to learn something new enticed me to join Helac.

What do you like best about your job?

I like the opportunity to learn about freight and how it works. I also like the variety of tasks I work on and how they are constantly changing.

What keeps you here at Helac?

What’s important to you outside of work?

My family and friends are important to me outside of work. I also enjoy taking fighter fitness classes at my local combat sports and fitness club.
