I have been working at Hofstra University full-time (more than 8 years)

Beautiful Campus, Growth opportunities, Often get snow days off with pay, decent benefits and vacation days. Great co-workers. The campus is such an exciting place when they hosts the Presidential Debates. Came from corporate America and I love this place. No back stabbing, no monthly closing of the books, plenty of places close by to eat and best of all - free tuition for yourself and your family.

The area West of the campus is not the safest. It's been my experience that the less work someone does, the less they are expected to do. I see others constantly misusing their time and management appears to be OK with it. However, the opposite is also true. The more you do the more you are expected to do. This worked to my benefit as it was noticed and I've been promoted multiple times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers need to manage their people a little better. I'm sure my staff notices that other departments appear to have little work.

Resume-first round-second round-final round. It was pretty fast only took 2 weeks to know the result. Supervisors are all educated MBA or Dr. they are very nice. It is very competitive tho I think over 200 people applied but only 2 got accepted.
