- A strong executive team but something is lost in the translation through the layers of middle management. - As others have said, some good people and some satisfying experiences - but isn't that a basic expectation of most jobs?
- A marriage of inconvenience between two disparate organisations which, at times, don't seem to want to work together. - Status conscious and bureaucratic middle-management and slow, convoluted decision-making can make it difficult to get things done. - Annual 'Great Place to Work Survey' where you are told that the score you give may affect your pay award - draw your own conclusions about the culture. - Obsessed at times with 'customer engagement' but doesn't seem to do very much with the insight gathered.
Advice to Management
Stop trying to brain wash your staff. Gather some real insight about how staff feel by actually speaking with them - treat them with the same respect as customers - or better still, act upon the insight gathered.
