    Pros

Great people. A lot of opportunity to witness working groups in action, attend congressional hearings and briefings, and sit in on staff meetings.

    Cons

You don't get a key for the door when you intern, so you have to show up late enough that others will be there to open the door for you. Not so great when you work in the morning and like to get an extra-early start. Unpaid, but not unusual for non-profit internships.

    Interview

Applied online and was contacted about two weeks later for an interview. Straightforward and pretty standard interview--asked me about myself, my interests, where I want my career to go, my availability during the semester, etc.
