I have been working at IASIS Healthcare full-time (more than 3 years)

If you work hard, work smart and do the job you are paid to do (the way you probably said you would do it when you interviewed...remember that?) then you are rewarded with trust and respect from management. If, on the other hand, you are a one-trick pony that makes a good first impression then slacks off the minute management looks the other way...you will be babysat and managed accordingly. Accountability and micro-management are not synonymous. If you are counseled because of your work habits, attitude, lack of focus, etc., you have become a liability to the company and the problem lies with You, not management. Unhappy people will find something to be unhappy about wherever they go...even if they have to create something.

Numerous chances are given to individuals that should be cast out the moment they begin causing turmoil. Keeping vindictive, embittered people around fuels a "jump on the bandwagon" mentality among others who enjoy playing the victim.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Empathy is wonderful to have, yet some people don't deserve it or appreciate it. Know how to spot poisonous people early on.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at IASIS Healthcare.

    Interview Details

Interview began with unit manager, very open and friendly. Toured the 2nd floor and answered my questions honestly. Second interview with Director of Nursing of Tempe St Luke's, very stiff, formal, and uncaring of my current situation( no hospital experience since 2011 due to family passing away and taking care of outstanding debt). Not offered this position.

    Interview Questions
    • The job description failed to mention that the 3rd floor is a corrections unit and it was mandatory to float there. Also, no self scheduling, you get one day a week to request off, period. The nurse to patient ratio is also 6 to 1.   View Answer
