The environment is extremely positive, proactive, and forever evolving. The CEO goes above and beyond most employers in providing great benefits, vacation/holiday time, and extra benefits that come up through various times of the year. The best way to sum it up is work hard, play hard. If you like sitting around and twiddling your thumbs, this is not the place for you. However, if you are eager to learn and work hard, you can develop yourself and your career to take it to the next level. Working at Icon means that expectations are high and therefore you will grow and improve your work habits.
There’s always too many baked goods and left over food in the kitchens, and we’re not able to work from home. It would be great if we could work at least one day from home to avoid driving.
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks – interviewed at Icon Media Direct.
The interview process is a bit lengthy, but that's how it is at solid companies. First there was a phone interview, then there was a more formal phone interview, then I came in and did the computer testing. The computer testing is not the kind of testing you may find at temp agencies where they just want to know you can open an Excel sheet. No! These tests are comprehensive and use real world examples of the exact work you'll be doing if hired. It was super easy for me, but I'm very comfortable using Excel, Pivot Tables, Word and Power Point. If you're NOT familiar or using MS Office every day, you WILL struggle and/or fail the tests. If you fail the tests, you don't get to finish the interview process, but trust me, that's a good thing. Everyone here is sharp and everything is fast paced, so if you can't figure out your way around an Excel spreadsheet, you won't make it here!
After the testing, you meet with the hiring managers. Depending on which position you're applying for, there may be other senior level people you interview with and you may meet the CEO. The interview process is panel-style so you're meeting with 2-3 managers at once, which can be intimidating. Just come prepared.
In total I had 2 phone interviews and 2 in-person panel interviews on 2 separate days. If they ask you to come back, it's a good thing.
- The interview questions were pretty standard. They really want to get to know you and see how you can fit into the company and what you can bring to the table. They're looking to see if you're passionate and have an entrepreneurial mind, because that's really what the company is all about. 1 Answer
