New solutions in education is not a stretch of the imagination for Imagine Schools. The company is one of the largest US operators of charter schools for students in kindergarten through 12th grade in the US. Imagine Schools educates more than 40,000 students at some 75 public charter schools in about a dozen states and Washington, DC. Imagine Schools was established in 2003 by CEO Dennis Bakke and his wife Eileen through a buyout of Chancellor Beacon Academies, the second-largest school management group in the US (behind Edison).
