    Pros

This library is evolving in many ways -- new branches are being built, other branches are being renovated. Technology, new recruiting and training programs are being updating make the staff more current, and the collection is evolving with the times. It has taken a few years but the library is evolving into a more adaptable and responsive organization that values public and staff input. It is creating more cohesive system-wide policies that are fair to all rather than just a few complainers. Benefits and time-off policies are average, but the choices of optional benefits are outstanding.

    Cons

At all levels, there are some remnants of an older, out-of-touch generation that are resistant to change, slowing the organization from evolving faster.

    Advice to Management

Hire more outside candidates, who bring outside perspective and experience.
