I have been working at Indianapolis Public Library full-time

    Pros

Excellent staff, collection and services. Senior management is open to new ideas and to trying new approaches. Very good medical insurance coverage. Benefits are available to both part-time and full-time employees. Flexible work scheduling.

    Cons

Very modest salaries, typical of library profession. Pace of change is slow as long-time employees adjust to new mission and strategy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve organizational communications. Develop a brand image of what the library is becoming. Enlist board and employees in communicating the brand internally and externally.
