Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- Accepted OfferPositive ExperienceDifficult Interview
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks – interviewed at InterDigital in October 2014.
Phone Interview (Conference) with the concerned Principal Staff Engineer and Senior Principal Engineer. It lasted for around 45 minutes. It was a cool interview and the interviewers are quite cooperative. Most of the Questions are focused on the Projects in the Resume. Questions mostly on Machine Learning Basics and Algorithms and your ability to choose and apply algorithm given a scenario.(Application-oriented) and expecting good reasoning behind the decisions taken.
- Few Questions from what I recollected; When is it useful to use PCA? Explain some of the dimensionality reduction techniques and conditions where they can be useful and when they are not.(Computational Complexity) How do you tune your model to achieve good accuracy?(Given some scenarios) Methods for pre processing and standardizing the data? Which model is preferred?(simple model with large training data or complex model with less training data) Explanation? Participation in any Data science competitions or events? If so explain how did you overcome the challenges? 1 Answer
